AFC Bournemouth will face champions Manchester City and runners-up Liverpool in the first month of the new Premier League season.

The Cherries visit the Etihad Stadium in their first away game on Saturday 13e August before traveling to Anfield a fortnight later on August 27.

A tough opening series sees Scott Parker’s side host Arsenal, who finished fifth last season, at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday 20e August.

The Cherries will kick off their Premier League campaign against Aston Villa – their opponents in their first top-flight encounter in 2015.

On a hot day at Vitality Stadium almost seven years ago, Rudy Gestede ruined the party by scoring the only goal in the second half.

However, Eddie Howe’s side upset the odds by finishing 16e in their first season in the Premier League with Villa going down with Norwich and Newcastle.


The Cherries will face former boss Eddie Howe and a host of former players and staff when they meet Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday 17e September.

Howe managed the Cherries for five seasons in the Premier League and his current staff includes Jason Tindall, Stephen Purches, Graeme Jones, Simon Weatherstone and Dan Hodges.

Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Matt Ritchie, who served the Cherries in their previous spell in the top flight, are all members of the Newcastle squad.

The Cherries have won their first two Premier League games at St James’ Park, the second victory thanks to a spectacular last-minute Steve Cook header in November 2017.

Stamford Bridge delights Murray


Supporters are hoping for more of the same when the Cherries meet Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

The season resumes on the 26the December after a six-week break for the World Cup final in Qatar between the 21st november and 18e December.

And the Cherries will travel to Stamford Bridge, a venue where they have recorded wins in 2015/16, 2017/18 and 2019/20. The clip above shows Glenn Murray’s goal against Chelsea in 2015/16.

Five days later, Parker’s side will see off 2022 as they host Crystal Palace on New Year’s Eve before opening 2023 with a trip to Manchester United on Monday January 2.


Both games against south coast neighbors Southampton will take place midweek, with the Cherries hosting the Saints on Tuesday 18e October.

The second leg at St Mary’s Stadium, where the Cherries recorded a memorable 3-1 victory in September 2019, will take place on Wednesday 26e April.

Superb victory for the Saints


Head coach Parker will face former club Fulham at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday 1st April before taking his team to Leicester a week later on Easter Saturday.

The Foxes were crowned Premier League champions in 2015/16 with a Marc Pugh goal earning the Cherries victory over them the following season at the Vitality Stadium.


The Cherries will face two former Premier League champions in their last four games, with Parker’s side hosting Chelsea and Manchester United.

A trip to Selhurst Park from Crystal Palace on Saturday the 13the May is sandwiched between Chelsea and United visiting the Vitality Stadium in the final month of the season.

And the last day of the campaign – Sunday 28e May – the Cherries bring the curtain down on the season with a trip to Everton.

Meanwhile, the Carabao Cup first round draw will take place on June 23 with the Cherries entering the competition in the second round.
