Applications open for Staff Council Awards

Nominations for staff members to be honored at the Celebration of Excellence on April 27 are now open. All Pickles (students, staff, faculty, administration) are encouraged to nominate personnel who exemplify professional excellence or a dedication to community service, both on campus or in the broader community. Nominees’ names will be included in the Celebration of Excellence program, alongside faculty and student recognitions. The deadline for submitting applications is April 8 at midnight.

Here are some examples of highlights you may want to include in your application:

• Aims for excellence and goes beyond the tasks entrusted to him
• Outstanding collaborator and sought-after team member within his department and across campus
• Anticipates problems and is an architect of solutions
• Is a mentor and leader for other employees
• Represents UNCSA admirably when engaging with businesses and community organizations

Community Service Award

Some things you might want to include are how the candidate:

• models of understanding, empathy and devotion
• improves communications and morale
• improves campus or departmental productivity and efficiency

Past recipients are listed on the Staff Council Awards page. Recipients are nominated for UNC System Awards and Governor’s Achievement Awards. Be sure to check the Standing Ovation Recipients web page in case you plan to nominate staff and want to include standing ovation information in your nominations.
