A rapid antigen test kit slated for Sunday at Billings Bridge Mall went much ahead of schedule, forcing those who arrived on time to leave empty-handed.
In a statement now deleted from its Facebook page, the mall said tests were due to arrive much earlier than 11 a.m., as announced by the Ontario government, and asked for clarification, but never did. received.
“We’re glad those who came out were able to get a test kit and sad for those who didn’t. The statement was in response to a previous Facebook post posted by the mall at 7:36 a.m., indicating that the test kits were being distributed. The message has since been deleted.
The Ontario government had announced that rapid tests would be available at the Billings Bridge from 11 a.m. It was one of two pop-ups in Ottawa on Sunday, the other being at Place d’Orléans.
When asked if the mall is distributing the kits at 11 a.m. as announced by the province, the mall responded that they were available hours earlier.
“You can buy one now,” the mall’s account said at 8:12 am in a response.
Sunday’s Billings Bridge pop-up has since been removed from the Ontario government webpage showing pop-up locations, although the cached version of the page showed no change to the time. from 11 a.m.
There are six more pop-up rapid test sites in Ottawa this week. The times displayed are those provided by the Government of Ontario.
