CBSE launches leadership program in life skills, holistic health and wellness


The Central Council for Secondary Education (CBSE) launched the “Adolescent Peer Educator Leadership Program in Life Skills, Holistic Health and Wellbeing”. The course will amplify resilience, mental well-being, self-esteem, social sensitivity, better communication skills, improved abilities, set goals and lead a socially productive life.

More than 2,600 CBSE schools across the country are registered for the initial phase of online orientation programs. The continuing education program is divided into lots with 8 hour training sessions spread over 4 days. Two school counselors / well-being teachers / core teachers and 4 peer educators are trained on 4 modules and 8 themes such as resilience building, nutrition, hygiene, family ties, emotion management, impact the digital world and effective career choices.

The themes of the program will continue to evolve as suggestions are received from peer educators and good practices are shared across the country.

A dedicated webpage on the CBSE website will contain tips, practical advice, posters, videos, FAQs and an interactive online platform for various aspects of life skills, mental health and wellness. to be. Orientation modules will also be included and further serve as an interactive discussion platform for contact, orientation and life skills for 21st century learners.

Short films from students from across the country and short modules on various aspects of psychosocial and related healthy behaviors to minimize risk in children and adolescents will be added. Peer educators will also have the opportunity to showcase their talent at the Young Filmmakers Festival.
