About the role

The CURC Education Program Student Webpage is an exciting new initiative to create a
point of contact for asylum seekers studying in Victoria. The website administration volunteer
will participate in the planning, co-design and ongoing development of the new web page. Using
your strong communication skills and creativity, your work will help increase
opportunities for asylum seekers to explore and discuss their educational pathways and
option.

Main responsibilities

  • Identify and summarize articles, topics and themes relevant to the audience
  • Conserve existing resources and develop new resources
  • Liaise and communicate with people with lived experience and other internal and external stakeholders to collect and collate articles for the webpage
  • Monitoring and action on feedback to ensure continuous improvement
  • Monitoring and moderation of communication platforms

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A creative and innovative mindset
  • Experience (personal or professional) managing social media platforms
  • A high level of computer literacy, including experience with Google Workspaces
  • Interest in creating a supportive and secure online community
  • Proven attention to detail

Desirable

  • Lived experience of claiming asylum
  • Experience studying in Australia, especially VET courses

See the full job description on our website. We are looking for a commitment of one shift per week, for a minimum of 12 months. Shifts are available Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with options for flexible working outside of office hours.
