AN ONLINE fundraising page set up to remember a Bangor builder who died shortly after being diagnosed with cancer has so far raised over £7,500.
David Wyn Jones, affectionately known as ‘Bubs’, collapsed while getting up for work recently.
He was then rushed to hospital, where he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and died aged 49 just 10 days later on June 3.
Her brother, Johnny, and friends in the community are raising money for her funeral on June 22, with the current total raised on the GoFundMe website standing at £7,660.

Islwyn Owen, David’s boss for around 18 years with construction company IM & DM Owen, paid tribute to a friend and colleague he loved very much.
Islwyn said: “He was a very hard and conscientious worker. No one called him David – everyone called him ‘Bubs’ – that was his name.
“You can see by the tributes on social media that he had a very likeable and infectious personality, and the page really shows his popularity.
“He never missed you – he always had a wave and a conversation and something to say every time. He was a really good friend.
“He was just a funny guy – very quick-witted. I knew him before he worked with us because I worked with his dad and he never caused anyone any trouble.
A post on the GoFundMe page, dated June 4, reads: “Felinheli sadly lost this week one of his legends who was much loved by all.
“Please support Johnny to give his beloved brother Bubs the biggest send off he so well and truly deserves?”
