Tips for celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

The WILTSHIRE Council has put together a guidance webpage for anyone considering having a street party or other event to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year.

2022 will mark the year Her Majesty The Queen becomes the first British monarch to serve for 70 years, having ascended to the throne on February 6, 1952.

Throughout 2022, this Platinum Jubilee will be celebrated across the country, the Commonwealth and the world as communities come together collectively to mark this truly historic occasion.

An extended holiday is held Thursday through Sunday, June 2-5 to give people the opportunity to celebrate the milestone, with a number of national events and reflections planned to mark his 70-year reign.

Some of the many nationwide celebratory events include the Queen’s Birthday Parade (Trooping the Color), the Platinum Jubilee competition, Platinum Party at the Palace, the Cazoo Derby at Epsom Downs and a Thanksgiving service at the Cathedral St Paul.

You can read more about the celebrations on the Platinum Jubilee website and seek advice on the Wiltshire Council website.

The site includes an interactive map so you can easily find out what events and special activities are happening and where they are happening. Organizers may wish to register their event with Platinum Jubilee.
